2016: Move-in Corbin, GSP or Scholarship Halls

This is the August 2016 move-in day information. Move-in day 2017 will be added when the details are final, but this page will give you a sense of what to expect:

 

Welcome to Student Housing at the University of Kansas. We’re excited you’re beginning your Jayhawk career with us! Read instructions for move in at GSP, Corbin, and Scholarship halls below.

Daisy Hill Residence Halls (Templin, Lewis, Hashinger, Ellsworth, Self and Oswald): See move-in instructions here.

Move-in day for apartments begins 8 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 16.

 

SCHOLARSHIP HALLS

Move-in day is Thursday, Aug. 18. Suggested travel routes to enter Lawrence are available. There is no set arrival time for scholarship halls, but halls open at 8 a.m.

  • Park on the street in front of your hall. After arrival, residents check in at their assigned building and receive room keys.
  • Returning scholarship hall residents volunteer to help carry items to the room. Here is a printable template so you may label your moving boxes.
  • Plan to move vehicles to nearby parking lots when unloading is complete.
  • Please break down boxes for recycling.
  • First community meeting, 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 18. After community meetings, a community meal will be served to kick off Hawk Week.

 

CORBIN HALL ARRIVAL TIMES
FOR SORORITY RECRUITMENT ON AUG. 14

Corbin doors will open at 8 a.m. Students pre-approved for early arrival receive information from their program coordinator. Early arrival move-in assistance may be limited. Consider bringing a baggage cart or dolly. There is no arrival time schedule for Corbin on Aug. 18 move-in day. The hall opens 8 a.m.

BEFORE YOU ARRIVE

Prior to your arrival print one of these color-coded permits indicating your hall. Click on the image below and a full-page pdf will open. Print in color and add the cell phone number of the driver. Tape the sign flush to your windshield's driver side so Parking and Transit staff can see letter and color and know where to direct you.

INSURANCE

Check whether household insurance covers your belongings. Student Housing insurance cov­ers facilities only. Several companies offer policies specifically for students in on-campus housing.
