What brought you to KU: I was really drawn to the amount of experience that is offered to the graduate students. I really appreciate the fact that I directly supervise resident assistants, manage conduct cases, serve in an on-call rotation, and many other aspects of the job.

What are important qualities needed to be successful here: The most important quality is weaving a social justice lens into every aspect of work. This allows for students to truly feel like they matter. With KU Student Housing, social justice is not just a box to check off when completed. It is one of our primary focuses to best support the students who attend this institution.

Where is your favorite place on campus or in Lawrence: One of my favorite places in Lawrence would be the Jazz Haus on Friday nights. They have drag queens and kings perform almost every week, and it provides a nice getaway from campus when needed. Additionally, this is a place for the LGBT+ community to gather and meet one another.
