What brought you to KU: Reflecting back to my graduate school search, what brought me here was a phenomenal program that had an emphasis in administration and the people that I would have the opportunity to work with. I had heard great things from my colleagues at my undergraduate institution, so when I received an offer for a graduate position at KU, I knew that it would be a great fit.
Where is your favorite place on campus or in Lawrence: For me, coffee is an essential item. I've found that there are many amazing coffee shops scattered throughout Lawrence that all have different ambiances. Two of my favorite coffee shops are Decades and 1900 Barker. Decades is a coffee shop that has great physical personality, and also has local art shows on occasion. 1900 Barker has not just great coffee, they also have amazing baked goods.
What are important qualities needed to be successful here: One of the most important qualities a candidate would need to be successful would be the ability to continuously personally develop as a professional. There are always opportunities to engage, and the choice is up to you if you want to or are able to take them. The department will support you and works to recognize you for your continuous dedication and willingness to engage in your development.
