What brought you to KU: I chose KU Student Housing because I believed I would be challenged in the work I was doing and I believed this would be the best fit in preparing me for my future professional goals. During my interview process, KU Student Housing felt like home - everyone was friendly, the facilities were nice, and I just had a really good feeling about what the assistantship would provide me with.

What is your most exciting experience working with KU Student Housing: It has been exciting to work in the Scholarship Hall Community. The cooperative-living community style is not a one I was familiar with before beginning this assistantship. We have residents from different states and countries who bring a new perspective to this traditional rich community. There is a sense of connection because each student directly helps the community through a variety of duties around the hall.

How do you help make KU a more socially just space: In our classes, we spend a lot of time reading about various types of students and their experiences. I find it critical to take what I've learned in the classroom and apply it to my work by being available to any student regardless of an identity they may (or may not) hold.
