Highlights on rescheduling; cancellation; single room; return after staging

A few Q&A's, pulled from the Frequently Asked Question main list

When do I return to stay?

See this page for links to instructions for all communities.

The process to schedule – or change – the staging and move-in appointment is similar.

  • Use your KU online ID and password to enter the myKU portal. Turn off pop-up blockers.
  • Select "Services."
  • Click “Login to Housing” button.
  • Click “Schedule or Change Move-In Time” and follow the instructions to either schedule time or change a time you’ve previously selected.

Single rooms are available. Although most single occupancy rooms are full, a limited number have been reserved by KU Student Housing. Because of building configurations, singles are not available in every community. No other room movement can be completed at this time. Once we reinstate room movement for the fall semester, we will let residents know.

Contract Cancellation: The cancellation policy and charges are explained here. Note that if you move your items into your room to stage your space, your cancellation changes from the $750 charge to 25 percent of fall contract costs.

When to return after staging: If you’ve staged your room, you may return and check in at the front desk after 5 p.m. August 21. You do not have to come on Friday and can arrive Saturday or Sunday if you wish. Only the resident will be allowed in the building; no guests will be allowed,  including parents, siblings or guardians. This is to protect the on-campus housing community as the fall semester begins.
