Schedule is available for you to choose move-in date

Dear Resident,

We are excited to have Jayhawks return to campus from winter break later this month. The online move-in appointment schedule is now available for you to select a time to return to KU to check in for the spring semester.

This schedule was created to maximize available elevators and stairs while reducing the risk of spreading COVID-19. Each resident will choose one 60-minute appointment. During that time, move your items from your vehicle into your room using the elevators and stairs. After your appointment time, while others have scheduled appointmentsplease limit your use of elevators and staircases. Residents may have two guests help during the scheduled move-in time. Everyone must wear a mask at all times, inside and outside, according to the university’s mask mandate. After the move-in appointment, guests will be restricted from entering Student Housing facilities through at least February 15 to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

COVID-19 Test

The university requires all students to complete a COVID-19 saliva test and receive their results to return for spring semesterStudent Housing residents received a test kit when they checked out for the fall semester. That kit needs to be completed and sent to the lab 7-10 days before your move-in appointment. KU will need to receive your COVID-19 test result BEFORE you will be allowed to move-back to campus. If you receive a positive test result, you will isolate based on CDC guidelines and away from campus before being allowed to move-in.

If you did not receive a COVID-19 test kit before leaving, please click here to send an email to Housing with your name and KU ID number. You will have two options:

  • 1. If you live near Lawrence, you may return to campus to pick up a COVID-19 test to complete before your move-in appointment. Kits are available to pick up Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the KU Student Housing office, 422 W. 11th Street. You will complete the test at home and ship it to the lab with the FedEx instructions.

  • 2. When you move in, you will complete COVID-19 test kit and you will quarantine in your room while awaiting results. Results typically are sent to the resident in two to three business days, once the kit has been received at the lab. Should you test positive, you will be required to move to a COVID-19 isolation space for the required period, typically 10 days.
