About Naismith Hall
Beginning August 1, 2023, Housing & Residence Life has fully leased Naismith Hall and will take over operational control. Students living in Naismith will be part of the Housing & Residence Life agreement.
Located on the edge of campus, just steps away from Allen Fieldhouse and the KU School of Business, and conveniently on the campus/city bus route, Naismith Hall offers 504 bed spaces. Living quarters at Naismith are semi-private spaces consisting of two rooms adjoined by a private bath and are fully furnished.
All Naismith billing will be to KU Student Accounts and due through Enroll & Pay.

No action is needed by you right now. Details of next steps will be sent the week of July 10 so that we can register you in Housing & Residence Life’s systems and assign you to a specific room in Naismith.
No rent or payments are due at this time as we work out those details for billing.
Once we sort the data, we will confirm roommate requests. We will assign students together based on mutual requests. Additionally, private bedroom leases and shared bedroom leases will be honored when we make your room assignment.
Like all students who live in Housing & Residence Life residence halls, students who live in Naismith will have their dining service provided by KU Dining. Specifics about your dining plan options will be shared once finalized.
Details around parking and how the parking lots at Naismith will be zoned by KU are being confirmed.
The full programmatic support of resident advisors and professional staff that Housing & Residence Life employs in our buildings will now also be provided at Naismith Hall. This includes social programming and support services, as well as management of the front desk and all administrative functions for the building.
We know that your lease with Naismith was scheduled to begin August 13, and many of you may have already planned to move-in this day. We will move forward with August 13 as your scheduled move-in day. We will also facilitate a second move-in day on August 17 for those unable to make it August 13. More specifics about move-in times, parking, when to arrive and what to expect will be shared later. Students involved in Panhellenic Recruitment will also be allowed to move-in on August 12 due to the schedule for sorority recruitment.
If you would prefer to cancel your lease and no longer live in Naismith Hall, Housing & Residence Life will allow you to take this action without penalty or requiring a sublease until July 31, 2023. Please email our office directly with your full name and to confirm that you no longer wish to live at Naismith so we cancel your lease with no further obligation by you.
