Students may start selecting a room on May 13. Room selection ends May 19 at 12 p.m. CST. Use the schedule below to find your group number and room selection time.
If you're transferring to KU and plan to live on campus during the 2026–2027 academic year, use this page to find the key steps, deadlines, and room selection dates.
There is a $50 non-refundable application fee for housing. Transfer students are not required to pay an enrollment deposit.

Key Dates and Deadlines
Important dates and deadlines for transfer and graduate students living on campus.

| December 1 - May 1 | Students admitted after December 1 may still complete a housing application and contract. Housing is guaranteed if contracting is completed by May 1 at 11:59 p.m. CST. |

| May 2 | The standby list opens for students who did not complete a contract by May 1. Placement from the list depends on space availability |
| May 8 | Room selection lottery group numbers announced. |
| May 13 | Room selection for transfer and graduate students begins. Specific room selection dates and times are assigned based on your lottery group number. |
| May 19 | Room selection ends at 12 p.m. (noon) CST. |
| Optional Items | Sign Up for a Special Community If you wish to live in a Special Community, submit your Special Community Preference Application by May 1. Roommate Pull-In You may pull in one roommate. To pull in a roommate or create a Roommate Pair, both of you must have paid the housing application fee and either paid or deferred the enrollment deposit. The student with the lower group number should complete room selection and use the Roommate PIN to pull in the other student. The Roommate PIN is available in your myKU Portal under Room Selection Checklist. Submit Medical Accommodations Request If you need medical accommodations, submit your request to the Student Access Center by April 1, and no later than May 15. Submitting your request by these dates maximizes the likelihood that we can meet your needs. Requests received after May 15 will still be considered; however, accommodations will be provided based on available space. |
