Housing Application Opens
Complete the online Housing & Residence Life application, including the application fee. We also encourage you to pay your enrollment deposit as soon as possible. These steps will ensure you will qualify for the Early Action Room Selection Lottery in the spring. Requires admittance to KU prior to November. 

Students who are admitted to KU after November 1, complete the online Housing & Residence Life application, including the application fee. We also encourage you to pay your enrollment deposit as soon as possible. These steps will ensure you will qualify for the General Room Selection Lottery in the spring. 

Scholarship Hall Priority Sign Up (Optional)
If you’re interested in living in a scholarship hall, submit your Scholarship Hall Application by this date to have the best chance to receive an offer. Applications received after this date will remain active for consideration as space becomes available.

Offers for Scholarship Halls will begin mid-April, but could be delayed due to FAFSA release dates. 

May 1: Deadline for Housing & Residence Life Application, Contract and University Enrollment Deposit Payment
Complete the Housing & Residence Life application and contract. Pay or defer the enrollment deposit to be eligible to receive a group number to participate in the room selection lottery. Students who pay or defer their enrollment deposit after May 1 will be assigned to the first available selection group, pending space still being available. 

The contract will NOT be available after May 1. 

May 2: Standby List Available
Housing & Residence Life application and contract will no longer be available. Students will be eligible to join a standby list for on-campus housing. Based on space availability, students will be notified if they are eligible to apply and contract. 

May 17: Group Numbers Announced
Group numbers will be available in the Housing Portal to students who paid or deferred their enrollment deposit by May 1. Group numbers will be available in the Housing Portal for students who pay or defer their enrollment deposit after May 1, within 2-3 business days. 

Room Selection Begins
The schedule for groups, including specific dates and times, will be announced soon.

Sign Up for a Special Community
If you wish to live in a Special Community (Honors, ROTC, Rainbow Community, GIA), submit your Special Community Preference Application by May 1. 

Create Roommate Pair
You will have the option for you and a roommate to create a Roommate Pair. In order to do so, you both must have paid your housing application fee and paid or deferred your enrollment deposit. 

Submit Medical Accommodations Request
If you require medical accommodations, complete your accommodation request with the Student Access Center by April 1, but no later than May 15, to ensure the best chance of accommodating any housing recommendations. Any recommendations received after May 15 will be considered but will be accommodated as space is available.
