Jayhawker and McCarthy Move-In

Updated Information for Move-In 2026 Coming Soon

Returning residents living in Jayhawker Towers and McCarthy will need to sign up for a move-in arrival time. 

To sign up for your arrival time:

• Log in to your myKU portal  
• Click the green “login to Housing.”  
• Under, "What Would You Like To Do:" select "Fall Move-in Checklist."
• Click the “Sign up for Move-in Arrival Time” button

You may begin checking into your space at your scheduled arrival time.

Arrival times are limited. 

• If you don’t see your preferred arrival time, it may no longer be available.
• You may change your arrival time up to 24 hours before the scheduled time.

Check-In & Key Pick-Up

• Jayhawker Towers residents: Jayhawker Towers Front Desk, located in Tower B.
• McCarthy Hall residents: McCarthy Hall Front Desk

Move-In Parking

• Jayhawker Towers: Utilize Lot 109 and Lot 110
• McCarthy Hall: Utilize Lot 112

Important Details

• It is not possible to unload trailers, RVs, or U-Hauls on move-in day.
• All furniture provided by KU Housing & Residence Life must remain in the room.
• Do not bring tools that can cause damage to the space to hang items/decorate the room.
  • Review our What To Bring webpage for approved decoration materials.

• Keep hallways clear of items and place all trash in designated trash rooms.

  • Dumpsters will be available during move-in to assist with large boxes/items that need to be thrown away.
