GSP & Corbin Move-In

Road construction will occur during move-in. Please plan ahead and follow the posted detours. A link to city construction updates will be provided when available.

Important note: Move-In 2026 packets and arrival schedules are coming soon. 

Before You Arrive

• Check your assigned move-in time when schedules are available.
• Review your move-in packet and arrival route.
• Print your boarding pass.
• Tape your boarding pass to the inside of the driver's-side windshield so staff can see it.
• Trailers, U-Hauls, box trucks, and RVs are prohibited during move-in. 
• Review the What to Bring page.
• Bring your KU ID card.
  • You must submit your information for your first KU Card.
  • If you have already submitted your information, check your KU email for pickup details provided by the Card Center or review where to pick up your KU ID.

Instructions for August 21

Arrival Directions

1. Start at 14th and Massachusetts Streets at your assigned arrival time.
2. Proceed west on 14th Street.
3. Turn north on Oread Avenue. 
4. Continue north on Indiana Street.
5. Turn east on 11th Street.
6. Staff will guide you to the unloading zone for your hall.

Important: You must approach Louisiana and 11th Streets while traveling east on 11th Street. Other routes will be blocked during move-in.

Unloading & Long-Term Parking

After unloading, drivers will be directed to park at the Kansas Union Parking Garage.

To reach the parking garage: 

1. Turn west onto 11th Street
2. Turn south onto Mississippi Street. 
3. Turn left into the Kansas Union Parking Garage. 

To return to GSP and Corbin: 

1. Exit the top level of the garage 
2. Walk north on Oread Avenue to 12th Street.
3. Walk east to Louisiana Street.
4. Turn north toward the halls.

This walking route avoids the hill on 11th Street.

Accessibility note: People with limited mobility should stay at the hall and not travel to long-term parking lots.

Important Reminders

• All furniture provided by KU Housing & Residence Life must remain in the room.
• Do not bring tools that could damage the space when hanging items/decorate the room.
• Keep hallways clear of items and place all trash in designated trash rooms.
  • Dumpsters will be available during move-in to assist with large boxes/items that need to be thrown away.
