Important note: this webpage includes details from Move-In 2025.

Arrival

• Find your move-in time in the arrival schedules.
• Before arrival, print your "boarding pass" and tape it flush to the interior driver's side windshield so it can be seen by staff directing traffic.
• At your arrival time, start at 14th and Massachusetts Streets. Proceed west along 14th Street, then north on Oread Avenue. Turn east on 11th Street.
• At Louisiana and 11th Streets, staff will guide you to the unloading zone for your hall.
  • NOTE: Approach this intersection traveling east on 11th. Other routes will be blocked.

Long-Term Parking

• When finished unloading, drivers will be directed to park at the Kansas Union parking garage or in Lot 94 near Memorial Stadium.
  • Parking garage: Turn west onto 11th Street, then south onto Mississippi, and turn left into the parking garage. To return, exit the top level of the garage and walk north on Oread Avenue to 12th Street, east to Louisiana Street, and turn north. This route avoids the hill on 11th Street.
  • Lot 94: Turn west onto 11th Street. Cross Indiana and Mississippi Streets and turn left into Lot 94.
• Persons with limited mobility should stay at the hall and not travel to long-term parking lots.

Important Details

• It is not possible to unload trailers, RVs, or U-Hauls on move-in day.
• All furniture provided by KU Housing & Residence Life must remain in the room.
• Do not bring tools that can cause damage to the space to hang items/decorate the room.
  • Review our What To Bring webpage for approved decoration materials.
• Keep hallways clear of items and place all trash in designated trash rooms.
  • Dumpsters will be available during move-in to assist with large boxes/items that need to be thrown away.
• Communities will hold their first floor meeting and dinner. Time TBD.
