Roomates studying in dorm room

Roommates

Living with a roommate is a key part of the on-campus experience for many Jayhawks. Students can live with someone they know, match with a potential roommate, or select a space and be assigned a roommate based on availability.

How to Pull in a Roommate

During room selection, students can pull in a roommate to live with when they select their space. Availability of this option depends on housing type and the student's assigned room selection times. More details will be shared soon.

Roommate Questionnaire

Finding a roommate is not required. Many students simply select their preferred living space, and another Jayhawk chooses the remaining space(s).

Students who would like help finding a roommate can use the Roommate Questionnaire to identify potential matches based on lifestyle and living preferences. It also includes a short bio section where students can share more about themselves and their community interests.

After completing the questionnaire, students can run a roommate matching report to view potential matches and contact them directly.

The questionnaire is available through the myKU Portal.
