Scholarship Halls

Give us 30 seconds—we'll show you everything.
Be a part of this tradition-filled community and see how much fun we have at the Scholarship Hall Olympics.

The main office for the scholarship halls is Crawford Community Center, 1346 Louisiana.

KU has 12 scholarship halls, two co-ed halls (KK Amini and Grace Pearson), six women's halls and four men's halls. Rooms are selected by the students in a process determined by each hall, but there are no single rooms available in any scholarship hall.

The "scholarship" is a lower housing rate because everyone completes two to three hours of weekly duties, such as cooking or cleaning for the 50-person community. Students who want a scholarship hall should sign a contract, then fill out the additional materials in the KU Housing portal to apply.

What can you expect from a scholarship hall experience?

  1. affordable housing
  2. food security and nutrition
  3. training in life skills, such as cooking and cleaning
  4. leadership development opportunities - many different positions for all sorts of interests

  6. a small community within the larger university
  7. mentorship of returning residents
  8. fun and friendships just steps away
