Scholarship Hall Move-In

Scholarship halls move-in day for returning and new residents is Thursday, August 17.

Students pre-approved for early arrival (such as Panhellenic recruitment, band, Options or ROTC) receive information from their program.

Instructions for Aug. 17

Arrival

• Find your move-in time in the arrival schedules below. (If you cannot make your arrival time, arrive after 4 pm. However, there will be no volunteers to help move in at that time.)
• At your arrival time, start at 14th and Massachusetts Streets. Proceed west along 14th Street towards the scholarship halls.
• Turn off of 14th Street onto the street or alley that leads to your hall as shown in the map to the right.
• Park on the street in front of your hall.
• As soon as you are done unloading, please park away from the building. If you have a car that does not need unloading, please do not park it in front of the building. 
• Trailers, U-hauls and box trucks are prohibited during move-in.​​​

Unloading

• Student takes KU ID card to the check-in station that corresponds to their hall. There are two check-in stations:
  • Residents in halls north of 14th Street check in at the Crawford Community Center. (Douthart, Grace Pearson, Margaret Amini, K.K. Amini, Rieger, and Krehbiel)
  • Residents in halls south of 14th Street go to the check-in station located between Pearson and Stephenson Halls. (Pearson, Stephenson, Battenfeld, Sellards)
  • Miller and Watkins residents will check-in on Lilac Lane, just in front of those buidlings.
• After receiving their room key at the check-in station, Students return to help move items to the room.
• Guests of the student stay with the vehicle and unload. Staff will help direct unloading.

Parking

• Plan to move vehicles to nearby parking promptly when unloading is complete.
• Limited parking is available along Louisiana and Ohio Streets north of 13th Street.
• Please do not remain parked between 13th and 14th streets so that other vehicles can unload.
• Vehicles can park in the Kansas Union parking garage for a fee.
• Lot 100 behind Stephenson Hall is accessible from Ohio Street.
• Do NOT park in the lots nearby Miller and Watkins Halls. These lots are restricted and will be ticketed.
