Move-in Overview



Residents living in Hawker Apartments can begin moving into their Fall 2023 assignment starting at 9:30 a.m. on August 15, 2023.   

   

Residents living in Hawker Apartments will need to sign up for a move-in arrival time. This time is when you are able to begin checking in to your space. 

   

To sign up for your arrival time:   

  • Login to your myKU portal   
  • Click the green “login to Housing”   
  • Under, "What Would You Like To Do:" select "Fall Move-in Checklist"
  • Click the “Sign up for Move-in Arrival Time” button

Arrival times are limited, if you don’t see your preferred arrival time it could be that it’s no longer available. Residents can change their arrival time up to 24 hours before their scheduled time.  



 

Parking Information

Residents living in Hawker Apartments have parking included in their room rate. Each resident is allowed one (1) vehicle to park in the garage.

If you are bringing a vehicle to campus, fill out the attached Parking and Garage Agreement prior to your arrival.

Students who wish to park in lots that are on-campus are eligible to sign up for a yellow parking pass through KU Parking and Transit at an additional cost.

 

Before you arrive for move-in 

  • Update your registration information in your Student Housing portal. 
  • Review your “Fall Move-in Checklist” located in your Student Housing portal to find your mailing address and your assigned bed space. 

Reminders & what to expect 

  • You MUST have a KU ID Card to enter housing buildings and use your meal plan. Make sure you have completed the steps to get your KU Card, so it is available at your hall when you arrive, to avoid delays in your check-in process. 
  • On your move-in day: Be prepared to walk distances and climb stairs in typical Kansas summer heat. Areas in front of buildings will be for unloading items.
    • Trailers, U-hauls and box trucks are prohibited during move-in.
  • Review the What to Bring page for helpful packing lists, prohibited items, move-in tips, and renter's insurance information.
  • Hawk Week activities will begin on Friday, August 18
