Move in fun

Road construction will occur during move-in. Please plan ahead and follow the posted detours. A link to city construction updates will be provided when available.

Before You Arrive

  • Update your registration information in your Housing portal
  • Trailers, U-Hauls, box trucks, and RVs are prohibited during move-in
  • Review our What To Bring webpage 
  • Sign up for a parking pass with KU Parking to access the parking garage
    • Proof of purchase will be required at check-in to receive a garage door opener
  • Review your “Fall Move-in Checklist” located in your Housing portal to find your mailing address and assigned bed space
  • Bring your KU ID card
    • You must submit your information for your first KU Card
    • If you have already submitted your information, check your KU email for pickup details provided by the Card Center or review where to pick up your KU ID

Arrival times are limited; if you don’t see your preferred arrival time, it could be that it’s no longer available. Residents can change their arrival time up to 24 hours before their scheduled time.

Parking

Residents living in Hawker will need to sign up for a parking pass with KU Transportation Services in order to gain access to the parking garage. Proof of purchase will be required at check-in to receive a garage door opener.

Important Reminders

  • You MUST have a KU ID Card to enter housing buildings and use your meal plan. Make sure you have completed the steps to get your KU Card, so it is available at your hall when you arrive, to avoid delays in your check-in process.
  • All furniture provided by KU Housing & Residence Life must remain in the room.
  • Do not bring tools that could damage the space when hanging items/decorate the room.
  • Keep hallways clear of items and place all trash in the designated trash compactor located in the B1 Garage.
