APPLICATION CLOSED

Applications are now closed for the 2025-2026 academic year

If you are interested in living where your work, please consider applying to be a Resident Assistant (RA), Scholarship Hall Proctor, or Scholarship Hall Food Board Manager. The application is available October 16, 2024 through November 13 at 11:59 pm. Read below for more details on these positions.

Undergraduate students can serve in a variety of functions in the halls and you'll find a short position description below. When positions are open you'll find links on this page, or you can search the Work at KU website.

Resident assistants, scholarship hall proctors and scholarship hall food board managers typically have a couple of annual hiring cycles:

  • Housing & Residence Life hires the greatest number of RAs, proctors and food board managers in the fall for the start of the next academic year. The application process begins annually in October, with interviews in late November, early December. Students hired will begin work before move-in day the following August.
  • Students find out about the hiring opportunities through targeted emails, the weekly newsletter, social media, and word of mouth from current staff members.

Student employment can be a rewarding way to give back to your fellow Jayhawks, learn leadership skills, and, for some employees, also take advantage of free room and board. Join our flock!
