Jayhawker Towers apartments comprise a living room, kitchen, bathroom and two bedrooms. The kitchen has a stove and refrigerator (and dishwasher in Towers A, B and D). The bedrooms are furnished with an extra-long twin bed, desk, chair, and dresser drawers for each resident. Living room furniture and queen sized bed, which are shown in the virtual tours, are available from a rental company.

Renovated Towers A and D have newer kitchen and bath appliances, and a laundry room in each tower. Towers B and C share a common laundry room in Tower B. Apartments are designated as 2-person (each resident has own bedroom) or 4-person (2 residents share each bedroom).

There has been a change in the alcohol policy for apartments. See full policy here.

"The Towers" apartments offer:
  • Greater privacy and independence
  • On-site staff
  • Information desk
  • Academic Resource Center
  • Wireless Internet
  • KU card-operated laundry
  • Optional meal plans and rental furniture packages

“The Towers” offers students continuous occupancy (summer contracts are available) and increased space, privacy, and independence while retaining the advantages of on-campus living such as location, staff, security, programs, and activities. An active tenants’ association sponsors social events and provides input on community improvements. Jayhawker Towers is a popular location and students who wish to live here should sign contracts as soon as possible. Students who want more privacy may also consider a residence hall suite (like apartments, residence hall suites offer private baths, plus the convenience of a dining plan).

Eligibility to live in Towers

Jayhawker Towers is designed as an apartment complex for single non-traditional students, upperclass students, and transfer students with at least 30 credit hours. As such, it is intended to provide an environment where mature, responsible students already acclimated to the rigors of college studies can succeed. First-year students (incoming freshmen or transfer students with fewer than 30 credit hours) may be allowed residence in Jayhawker Towers if they can demonstrate a familial relationship with a current resident or their participation in an academic or extracurricular program provides the student with substantial structure and support, thereby assuring that they are prepared to live more independently in this apartment-style environment.
