Returning Residents
Are you currently enrolled as a KU student—or have you previously lived on campus—and want to return for the 2026–2027 academic year? Here’s what you need to know:
To guarantee on-campus housing, students must complete a housing application and select their hall, room, and bedspace during room selection.
Please note there are a limited number of returner spaces available in Stouffer Place, Jayhawker Towers, Hawker Apartments, McCarthy Hall, and GSP Hall. Spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Timeslots given to returning residents are based on a lottery system.
| Dec. 2 | Housing Application Available for Returners Returning residents or currently enrolled students who want to live on campus can sign next year’s application. |

| Jan. 23 | Deadline for Scholarship Hall Returners Those wishing to return to a scholarship hall must sign their housing application by this date. |
| Jan. 28– Feb. 2 | Room Retention Returning students may choose to retain their current room and bedspace for next year if it is eligible. Applications must be submitted by the previous business day before selecting a room. |
| Feb. 2 | Room Selection Group Numbers Announced Returning residents will receive their group number for room selection. |
| Feb. 4-Feb. 13 | New Room Selection If you wish to select a different room than your current space, you may do so within this period. The earlier you select your room, the more options you will have available. |
