Bed Lofting:

Residents may submit a request to have their bed configured prior to move-in. Requests must be submitted by Friday, August 2, 2024, at 5pm. Requests must be submitted through the housing portal, requests e-mailed to Housing & Residence Life cannot be fulfilled. Due to furniture, room layouts, and space, configuration options are specific by room type. If a configuration option is not listed for your room type, it is not an available option prior to move-in.

Housing & Residence Life will make every effort to fulfill your request. Due to constraints of time, facilities, date of request, and staffing, your request may not be able to be completed prior to move-in. Once you have moved in, a request can be submitted to adjust the configuration of your bed.

 Approximate Bed Heights:

  • Lofted bed: 60"
  • Mid-lofted bed: 32"
  • Standard bed: 28"
  • Bunked beds: 28” (lower bed) 60" (top bed)

Residents can request an adjustment to their bed height after move-in, you can submit a service request with facility services. Requests submitted prior to move-in cannot be fulfilled and will be cancelled. Once you submit a request, use masking tape to mark the bed and the height you are requesting.

Exceptions:

  • Most Hawker, HERE, Stouffer Place, and McCarthy beds cannot not bunked or lofted.
  • Lewis Hall and Templin Hall beds are bunked. They can be un-bunked once students move in and all roommates agree to the configuration, but not lofted. Un-bunked beds - only in Lewis or Templin - could accommodate bed risers of no more than five inches.
  • Scholarship hall beds have set configurations based on the available space in the room and type of bed. Any adjustments, if available, can be requested once students move in and all roommates agree to the configuration.
