KU Student Housing is hiring for desk staff positions as an employment opportunity in your community so that you can ‘Work Where You Live.’ Desk staff will have the opportunity to move in early for training and to help work the traditional Move-in process!
Below are two opportunities that we are currently hiring for. There are current opportunities for desk locations at each residence hall, apartment community, and for the Crawford Community Center within the Scholarship Halls.
Desk Assistant — $10/hour
- Desk Assistants will be working between the hours of 7AM – 11PM. This position provides customer service at the front desk to students that live on campus.

Night Desk Assistant — $11/hour
- Night Desk Assistants will be working over night shifts between the hours of 11PM – 7AM. Night Desk Assistants assist with hall safety and security while also being responsible for Desk Assistant duties including customer service, access control, administrative, and communication functions within a residence community.
